Tours
A riding holiday essentially requires the Riding School to transport the horses required, via truck to the location – prepare the horses for riding by tacking and saddling and then lead the group of riders through routes, earlier trekked by the riding school.
A riding group usually has a group leader (on horse back) at the head of the group and an assistant rider (on horse back) at the back of the group, who communicate amongst themselves and the jeep at the rear via walkie-talkies.
The jeep at the rear holds the first aid equipment for humans and horses; the veterinary officer in charge; the handlers to assist the riders; the driver; mounting block; water; extra saddlery and equipment and the photographer.
All full day rides (4-6 hours of riding) are inclusive of a picnic lunch. The riders will ride to a site which will have tents already set up with reclining chairs, beds and plastic tables.

Locations
Bentota - A ride through the famed golden beaches of Sri Lanka for half a day, with the wind tugging at your hair and the sand shimmering at the horses' hooves. We then lunch under tents by the sea whilst the horses graze under the coconut trees.
Thissamaharama - The ride gives a view of the country rarely seen in more regular tourist routes. The route goes through villages, paddy fields, banana plantations and a gallop next to the lake, pausing for lunch and then ride back to the hotel.
Yala – The famous wildlife sanctuary is explored on horse back, with winding routes through the bush and over the wide Yala sand dunes, through fisherman villages and rocky terrain; this is truly a unique ride.
Ella - This is an amazing ride through jungle and paddy fields, climbing hills and crossing streams. The Ella route passes a bird sanctuary and the departure from the city atmosphere gives an exceptional look into the village life of Sri Lanka . At the end of the ride, the night is spent at an eco-friendly lodge, which in itself is an experience for the adventurous!
Kandy – The ride is placed in one of the most popular tourist destinations in the island, exploring the tea plantations and by roads of one of the ancient cities of Sri Lanka , before trekking through a valley rich in wildlife.
Nuwara Eliya – This is a route emanating from the horse center of the island, essentially beginning at the race track itself before exploring the tea plantations of the hill country, witnessing the beauty of the island from the hills.
Dambulla – This is a ride through the expanses of the wide landscapes, lakes and sweeping grassy plains towards Elephant Corridor, where a fair canter is allowed through an orchard alongside a streamlet.
Sigiriya/ Habarana – A unique view of the Sigiriya rock fortress is allowed as riders make their way through jungle, plains and cultivations towards and around the magnificent structure. This ride can also include a ride in the sugar plantations of Habarana.
Mathugama/Kalutara - A ride through paddy fields, rubber estates, tea plantations and villages with a rest stop at a quaint bungalow located in the midst of a rubber estate.
