Why us?

The Premadasa Riding School (subsidiary of Premadasa Group of Companies), affiliated to the Sri Lanka Equestrian Association (national body for equestrian sport) has been the main rudder in the development of horse sport in Sri Lanka for the past ten years.

We are an educational institution for horse riding, organizers of riding holidays and horse events in the island. We have been organizing and operating riding holidays in the island for the past 6 years, and are currently the only operators to do so in the island.

Our network of stables across Sri Lanka is a main component facilitating our riding holiday operations. (Colombo, Waikkal, Anuradhapura, Kandalama, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Tissamaharama, Ahungalle, Bentota, Beruwela).

The Marwari of Sri Lanka

The Marwari, Sindi and the Kathwiari are indigenous to India, and are renowned for their intelligence, stamina and agility. Ideal for hacking long distances, these horses have been imported from the deserts of Rajasthan.

This breed initially made its way to Sri Lanka as war horses of Indian royalty, however with the arrival of the colonists and over the intervening years, the breed died out in the island until their reintroduction over the past few years.
